About Aaron publications

Aaron publications is a family company based in Lincolnshire which has been established since 2009. We formed this business in order to publish the All-In-One series of music theory books after they had already received interest from a large and established music publisher in the UK. The material has proven successful among Rachel's own private students as well as in the classroom environment and therefore, encouraged by their popularity, we decided to make these books available to the wider community (To read more about the author, Rachel Billings and why the All-In-One series was written click here. More is also explained in the preface page ).

The first copy of All-In-One to Grade 5 (in book form) was produced in September 2008. The first print run was 125 hardback in total, which sold well following an article placed in the ISM journal (Incorporated society of Musicians). The first edition was not ideal due to the fact it was rather large and heavy. However, any book, no matter how unwieldly, Rachel considered an improvement upon a clumbersom box file of loose papers!

Following the ISM advert, Rhinegold kindly offered to write a review (Rhinegold is one of the leading resources for music education in the UK). The books received a very successful write-up in February 2009 at which point, family members clubbed together to finance the production of 2500 paperback copies of All-In-One to Grade 5. The new paperback edition is considerably different to the first in terms of size, durability, weight (it is light and under 1kg) and material. The changes were no small matter. Many hours of editing needed to take place to adjust both margin and content within the book so that the text size would not be affected in the new smaller edition. The page size changed significantly from  220mm x 303mm to 200mm x 280mm (which is slightly less than A4 size) so the book sits comfortably on any bookshelf and can be easily slotted into a child's book bag. The hardback cover was replaced with a thick plastic protective shield, which is equally durable, but not all printers were equipped with the machinery needed to fit the particular sort of tough spiral binding we wanted. Therefore several months of waiting and delay ensued, but finally, the new, second edition was produced in August 2009. Meanwhile Aaron publications became officially registered as a business in February 2009.
