All-In-One Grade 3 Revision Booklet
All-In-One Grade 3 Music Theory Revision booklet is useful for the few students who require a little extra practice material in the final stages before an exam (all the Revision booklets are optional because plenty of practice material can already be found All-In-One to Grade 5/ All-In-One: Grades 1-3 and All-In-One: 4-5). Covers topics covered in the Grade 3 exam syllabus (Associated Board and Trinity College London) and assumes knowledge of all previous grades.
(All-In-One Series. 24 pages, paperback)
This music theory revision booklet revises topics which have already been practiced in All-In-One To Grade 5/All-In-One: Grades 1-3. However, exercises test a pupil’s comprehension of more than one topic at once and wording, wherever possible, is the same as that used by the relevant exam board so that students will feel well prepared and confident in the final stages before an exam [added note: these Revision Booklets were published before 2018, therefore the wording of questions isn’t quite the same in a few places as those found in ABRSM exam papers printed after January 2018. Subject matter remains the same apart from the fact these test papers still retain the compositional exercises which the new exams omit].
In Grade 3 there are more key signatures, compound time signatures are revised as well as diatonic intervals (which require that you remember the technical name as well as a number).
The short four page appendix contains topics which are beyond ABRSM grade 3 requirements and specifically intended for Trinity College London grade 3 students (real and tonal sequences, broken chords, chord inversions: root, first and second, writing 4-part tonic chords for SATB in root position, primary chords, adding a bass line to a tune or vice versa, perfect cadence and orchestral instruments).
NOTE: There is currently no Answer book available for the Revision booklets (unlike the other books in the All-In-One series, where Answers are available) . However do not be discouraged because if stuck, the author herself (Rachel Billings) will help you! If you do not have a teacher to mark your work and need just a little help completing the Revision booklets, please don’t hesitate to contact Rachel directly via the contact page . In effect, you thereby receive your own personal tutor when you purchase a Revision Booklet! (This does not apply in the same way when purchasing other books, since answers are are available for all other books in the series).
